As a kid, I wanted to become a successful businessman because to me, I thought it would mean being my own boss and working a lot less hours. While it’s true, being the business gives you a lot of freedom, you are not your own boss. Your customers, business partners, employees and share holders are!
I will say though that depending on your business and how well you have processes for your business in place, you can work a lot less hours compared to a typical 40 hour a week work week! I spent an average of 5-10 hours per business when I was an active businessman. However I had employees doing most of the work, I had systems in place and trained them well and gave them the freedom to make the right calls with in the business they work for.
